My favourite Catfish episode ever

   This should have been the last episode of the season. There is no other episode that has come close to this one and I doubt it ever will. It’s hard to describe how shocking this show was but I’m going to try. Here goes….

So I knew I was going to like the episode the minute I saw the Catfishee. Anthony was in the war in Eye-Rack, had been pensioned off after a hip injury and been awarded a purple heart. I didn’t know what most of this meant but I knew that it was big. So you see, he is not just a catfish hero but an actual war hero and life hadn’t been easy for him. He was kinda cute too if you like two shade hair, street chic and emotional.

He had met Mississippi mudpie Marq online. Those lips, those eyes, that skin. Marq was hot.  He was hot! Anthony claims that he loved his personality and had told him things that he hadn’t told anyone else. These things were never revealed but I too would confess anything to those beautiful lips so I understand how Anthony fell hard. He may be a hero but he’s also a man with a pulse.

He met Marq online during his convalescence and it helped him to heal. They spoke for a number of number of months and before he knew it, he fell in love. His suspicions were first raised when he flew to Jackson, Mississippi for Thanksgiving and was stood up in a restaurant. He waited for 2 hours. He then got a message from Marq hours later telling him that he had been in a car accident and his phone was off. Like seriously?

So our hero Anthony  contacts the Catfish people and they start their investigations. They find the beautiful, fully lipped guy whose name isn’t Marq. It’s Joshua. He skypes them and says that this sort of thing happens all of the time and he leaves a message for Anthony saying that it was never him.

When Anthony sees the video he cries real tears. He will never ever shag that handsome specimen.  I too was close to tears because by then I had seen the real Marq.

Cue the investigative part of the show where they found his twitter handle or something and linked it to the real person. Framel!

The REAL MARQ

Anthony and the team go to Mississippi to confront him and it all gets drama queen-licious. It’s a must watch. I don’t know what happened to Anthony but he was ANGRY. And when Anthony was angry he turned into Miss Toni!

My thing is why did Framel pick such a beautiful guy to be his online persona? Surely he knew that it wasn’t going to end well when Anthony found out the truth? And what does the programme say about our reaction to looks? Are we still shadist? Fatist? Tooth gapists? (disclaimer: I loves a gap) Or are we just upset at the degree of the lie told by Framel? And  then he adds insult to injury by dragging his friend Lagarious. I mean, I was still reeling from having seen Framel after lusting after Joshua. It isn’t right.

I’m not going to spoil it any further but you need to catch it online. I wish you well. Don’t be too hard on Framel. He just wanted someone to love him for him so posted photos of someone else.
